I-Road Toyota Concept

by danielhinds on February 28, 2013

Have you heard of the i-Road? It’s a new concept car from Toyota, but it’s not like anything you’ve ever seen before. Let us here at Woburn Toyota Dealerships MA give you a little taste.

The i-Road (which someone isn’t infringing on Apple) is a little two-seater all-electric vehicle. We don’t have a lot of details yet, but they’re going to be debuting it at the Geneva Motor Show, so we’ll definitely get some soon! We here at Toyota Boston can’t wait for a closer look at this thing, especially after the Tron themed teaser video Toyota just released.

Check out the video below, and let us know what you think of the new concept!

Amazing Finger Paintings!

by danielhinds on February 26, 2013

Woburn Toyota Finger Painting Dog Have you ever finger painted? Most of us give up that hobby sometime around the first grade. It’s fun, but it’s just not the medium of serious artists…or is it? Let us here at Woburn Toyota, your Toyota Dealers Boston loves, show you one woman who is making a career out of the art of finger painting.

You see the picture of the dog above? That’s a finger painting! Artist Iris Scott uses only latex gloves and paint on canvas to create her whimsical works. We here at Used Toyota Boston love the look!

“I see the world through ‘finger painted’ colored glasses,” Scott says. “I paint what I see. Finger paintings are hiding everywhere, sometimes I catch them when I’m walking down the sidewalk, or lounging in a living room.  I search for color relationships, and intriguing forms.”

Want to see exactly how she makes such interesting pieces without the aid of brushes or any other tool?

Man Reunited with Dog!

by danielhinds on February 21, 2013

There’s something beautiful about the relationship between people and their pets. Whether you prefer cats or dogs, you know that a good pet can become part of the family, just as loved as any relative. That’s why it’s so painful when people and their pets get separated. Let us here at Woburn Toyota, the home for Toyota Boston trusts, tell you about an incredible pet story that happened just this week.

Dave Thomas, a 36-year-old man from California, was placed in jail for a few days, getting out on February 13th. He was only in trouble for minor traffic infractions, but he couldn’t afford to pay the tickets, so it meant jail. Unfortunately, when he went to jail, his dog went to the pound. The dog, an adorable mutt named Buzz Lightyear, was impounded until Dave could afford to pay the fees to have him released. Seeing how the man just got out of jail for not having money for a parking ticket, it’s no surprise he couldn’t afford the dog release fees either. We here at your Toyota Dealerships MA really feel for the pair!

Luckily, someone snapped the above photo of Dave and Buzz sitting sadly together during visiting hours. The picture went viral, and the pet lovers came out in full force! Through Facebook and other social media channels, the story spread. Amazingly, over the course of the last week, over $2,000 dollars has been raised, more than enough to have Buzz and Dave reunited!

Sometimes, the internet is truly a wonderful place!

Haunted Mirror for Sale

by danielhinds on February 19, 2013

Do you believe in ghosts? We’ve talked about haunted items before on this blog, and they always seem to be so fascinating. What draws us to the supernatural? It’s hard to say, but let us here at Woburn Toyota, your home for Used Toyota Boston, show you the newest ghostly possession for sale.

The item comes again from eBay, which does it’s fair share of haunted sales. This time around, the item in question is an old mirror, which isn’t surprising. We here at Toyota Dealers Boston find that the creepiest stories ALL involve mirrors!

The two people selling the mirror claim they first found it in a dumpster outside of their home. They couldn’t figure out why anyone would throw out a perfectly good mirror (it was ghosts) so they brought it home with them. Every since the mirror entered their home, they’ve been experience terrible phenomenon though.

They would wake up in intense pain, felt a constant sense of doom, and were constantly seeing flickering shadow people reflected in the mirror. They could live with these things, but they had to draw the line when they started waking up covered in deep red scratches.

They didn’t throw it out like normal people (probably because they are lying) and instead decided to sell the mirror on eBay. Lying or not, the story worked, and they managed to sell the dumpster mirror for a nifty $150.

Who would buy such a thing? We aren’t sure, but they must REALLY be interested in the paranormal!

Father Pays Daughter to Stay Off Facebook!

by danielhinds on February 12, 2013

Social media is spreading like wildfire these days, especially when it comes to Facebook. You know the saying “Everyone and their Grandma?” Well, the majority of Grandmas are actually using Facebook now, making that saying almost painfully true. As a parent, how can you keep your kids from overloading on the social news? Let us here at Woburn Toyota Dealers Boston show you one father’s interesting idea.

A father from Boston was getting completely exasperated by his 14-year-old daughter’s constant, CONSTANT, Facebook use. No matter what he tried, he wasn’t able to get her to cut back. Instead, his daughter offered him a wager. He would pay her $200 if she was able to stay off Facebook for a full five months. We here at your home for Used Toyota Boston aren’t sure if this is great parenting or terrible parenting!

“It was her idea, which I fully support,” the father–Paul Baier–said. “She wants to earn money and also finds Facebook a distraction and a waste of time sometimes.”

The two made it official, even drawing up the contract seen at the top of this post to really seal the deal. How is the general public reacting to this move? Let us show you our favorite quotes, both for and against!

Against-”Why not try something called ‘parenting’. It’s more difficult than bribery but will more beneficial to your daughter in the long run.

For- “Great idea…Perhaps, this will inspire other parents to do the same.”

How do you feel about the bargain?

Where is Clint’s Famous Chair Now?

by danielhinds on February 7, 2013

Woburn Toyota Eastwood Chair

Remember Clint Eastwood at the Republican National Convention last year? He had the very strange presentation where he interviewed an invisible Barak Obama in a wooden chair. It wasn’t the most popular thing he ever did, and he was pretty much universally panned by the media. Now that we’re a few months removed from the incident, people are starting to ask, “What every happened to that chair?” Let us here at Peters Toyota, your home for a Toyota Boston residents love, tell you about it!

It turns out the chair was snagged by Reince Priebus, the chairman of the RNC, who smuggled it out of the RNC shortly after Eastwood was finished lecturing it. Apparently, as soon as Eastwood started speaking, he knew he had to have that chair. Here at your Toyota Dealerships MA, we gotta give him credit for knowing it would be a coveted item.

“I told my wife and a couple of folks that were around me, ‘Let’s get that chair,’” he said.

Reince now proudly displays the chair in his office for all visiters to enjoy, and enjoy it they do. The Republican National Convention chairman has said that barely a day goes by where people aren’t popping in to take a picture, or have their own picture taken with the famed chair.

It seems a little silly, but it’s just one of those random things that gets entered into the political mythology. Decades from now, historians will be preserving Clint’s chair so that the invisible Obama will always have a place to sit and be yelled at.

Toyota Super Bowl Commercial

by danielhinds on February 5, 2013

Well, another Super Bowl has come and gone. The Ravens put away the 49ers in a game that actually ended up being pretty exciting. Sure, we would have loved to see the Ravens and Ray Lewis pay for what they did to the Patriots, but you can’t always get what you want. There was a silver lining to the whole thing though, let us here at Woburn Toyota, your home for Used Toyota Boston, tell you what it was!

The silver lining was the commercials, of course! This year didn’t have the best ones ever, but there were a few standouts that really succeeded. Hey, you can call us biased, but here at Toyota Dealers Boston, our favorite was the Toyota Rav4 Genie commercial featuring Big Bang Theory’s Kaley Cuoco. Not only was she great as the genie, Toyota gave her a special effects budget to match!

Groundhog’s Day Commercial!

by danielhinds on January 31, 2013

Groundhog’s day is a fine movie starring Bill Murray, and it’s also one of those strange holidays we here in America love to celebrate. Do you have any idea how the tradition originated though? Let us here at Woburn Toyota Dealerships MA tell you!

It’s supposed to have it’s roots in ancient European weather lore. The superstitions the old farmers followed before there was any such thing as a meteorologist. It specifically came from Germany to Pennsylvania, where many of the Germans settled in America’s formative days. It was referred to as Candle mas, but the meaning was the same. We here at Toyota Boston like this old poem that explains it pretty well!

If Candle mas be fair and bright,
Winter has another flight.
If Candlemas brings clouds and rain,
Winter will not come again.

So how do you think it will turn out this year? Well, Toyota has made a couple commercials so they are covered either way! Here is the result that we are hoping for!

Haunted House on Ebay!

by danielhinds on January 29, 2013

Woburn Toyota Haunted eBay House Do you believe in haunted houses? Some people think that the whole idea is completely ridiculous, that science proves it can’t be true. Other people think it’s a given that ghosts cross into our world. That doesn’t mean they jump out and yell, “BOO!” It can be something as subtle as doors opening and closing by themselves, or other noises going bump in the night. If you’re one of the believers, then you probably want to steer clear of any known haunted homes. If you don’t think ghosts exist though…well, we here at your Toyota Dealers Boston have the deal for you!

There was an auction on the French version of eBay that was getting heavy coverage in all the French news outlets. Apparently, a man was selling his home in a town called Arbresle for a single Euro. The house is no mansion (as you can see in the picture) but it’s still a pretty amazing deal for about $2. The only problem is that the current owner claims that it is the home of an extremely aggressive ghost. We here at Used Toyota Boston aren’t sure if we’d want to take the risk!

Apparently the ghost does about what you’d expect. Objects randomly fly across the room, bloodcurdling shrieks are heard in the night, and just generally ghostly ruckus is being raised.

What do you say, would you buy a home for $1 in America if it was haunted, or would you feel better just steering clear?
